ADELPHI INCHGOWER 55.8%
12-Year-Old Speyside 55.8% Vol
1 of only 561 bottles from cask no 801246
Drawn from a refill Oloroso sherry butt this has the colour of copper with a moderate bead. The nose delivered lemon drizzle cake, almost posset, profiteroles, nougat & crème anglaise with ripe and juicy sultanas. On the taste we found macerated red fruit, dark chocolate, becoming oilier (typical of make) almost savory like Bovril and salted fudge
Inchgower is a part of Diageo and remains an important element of both Bell’s and Johnnie Walker. Less than 1% of Inchgower’s malt is kept back for bottling as a single malt – a Flora & Fauna 14yo is the only offcial release still readily available, although there are also a handful of Rare Malt bottlings from the turn of the century.
Independent bottlings of Inchgower are relatively rare.
