ADELPHI GLENBORRODALE 9 YO 46%
1 of only 738 bottles, 46% Vol
A blended malt that takes single malts from the Highland Park, Tamdhu, Glenrothes (some special Sherry aged malt) and Bunnahabhain distilleries that are all at least 9 years old, is a special limited release from Adelphi.
A rich colour of warm copper with a moderate bead. On the nose we found fig rolls, dates and mint choc chip cookies. Almost like a summer’s tea-time in the kitchen garden. The palate brought warm scones with strawberry jam, orange blossom and recently watered rhubarb.
Glenborrodale meaning ‘fortified valley’ is a small village just two miles from Adelphi’s Ardnamurchan distillery, and this blended malt is named in its honour. Situated on the southern shore of the picturesque Ardnamurchan Peninsula in the Highland area of Scotland, Glenborrodale Castle – which is built of red Dumfriesshire sandstone – boasts about 132.99 acres of grounds and includes the Isle
of Risga and Eilean an Feidh.
